It is made up of community rail partnerships, which work along railway lines or across regions, as well as station adoption groups and other local organisations, that work to connect communities with their railways

Adoption of Hilsea Station - 30th Jan 2025
Hampshire Community Rail Partnership
Community Spotlight have adopted Hilsea Station through the Hampshire Community Rail Partnership. Our goal is to engage volunteers, community groups and local businesses to work together to enhance its appearance and increase community engagement. The aim is to make the station a more welcoming and vibrant space, involving activities like gardening, litter picking, and hosting events.
Environmental Project - May to Nov 2025
Community Spotlight have been awarded a £1000 grant through the Groundwork, One Stop Community Partnership Fund to carry out a 6 month environmental project at Hilsea Station. Activities will include a community litter pick, waste analysis and solutions, followed by community talks about the affects of waste on the environment & wildlife.

Seekers Create Community Consultation
Community Spotlight are excited to have been awarded a grant from the Community Rail Partnership to hold a 1 day Creative Community Consultation event at Hilsea Station with Seekers Create CIC. The event will provide an opportunity for local residents, organisations and businesses to share ideas about ways to improve, connect and increase activities at the station. Date TBC

Hilsea Station Veterans Gardening Group
Weekly meet up to tidy green areas at the station
Are you and armed forces veteran or emergency services veteran? Are you unable to work, retired or looking to support your local community?
Community Spotlight would like to invite you to come along to a weekly Veterans Gardening session to weed, sow seeds, maintain and look after planters at Hilsea Station. As station adopters, we are looking at ways to bring together the community, to make the station an attractive, exciting place to visit the local area.
