HELPING BRING THE COMMUNITY BACK INTO THE LORD JOHN RUSSELL PUB
19th April 2022
The new Manager of the Lord John Russell Pub in Albert Road, Jordan, is really keen to bring the community vibe back into the pub and connect with local groups. Teas, coffees, alcohol are available to purchase and the tables and chairs can be moved around to accommodate groups and their activities. They also have a small stage area which is ideal for anyone looking to lead a group session.

If you're looking for a free venue to hold a network or committee meeting, host an event, run a class or activity group, message Jordan and let’s help bring the community back into their pub.

TERRACYCLE: HOW TO RECYCLE YOUR PLASTIC WASTE FOR CHARITY.

If anyone has any Ferrero Rocher boxes or Marigold Gloves ready to donate, please pop me a message as these 2 programmes are really close to their target weight for shipping.

I also shipped 2 boxes of printer cartridges this week, thank you to everyone who has been dropping them off to my collection box and The Package Free Larder.

THE LIFEHOUSE CHARITY: HOW YOU CAN HELP A LOCAL FOOD KITCHEN AND SUPPORT CENTRE IN SOUTHSEA.
4th February 2022
Today, I had the pleasure of visiting Mike Morell from The Lifehouse in A Southsea. The Lifehouse is a food kitchen and support centre in Albert Road which welcomes everybody including homeless, rough sleepers, under-housed, sofa surfers, those feeling disconnected or/and not so well in themselves, lonely and lacking friendship.

They currently need mens gloves, coats, pants and t-shirts & are always interested in connecting with local businesses to help with fundraising and food donations.
They are also interested in connecting with local people/groups who provide mental well-being activities or workshops, as they may be able to offer the use of their dining area when it is not in use. Contact Mike to find out more information about availability.

It’s a fantastic local independent charity with a wonderful team of volunteers who provide over 150 meals and food parcels every week! You can find out about the other services they provide by checking out their website, picking up a leaflet or signing up to their newsletter.
