CASE STUDY 1 - LOAVES OF LOVE
About
Loaves of Love was created out of a wish to help and support women asylum seekers and refugees in our local community. We bring women together through the medium of baking bread to help them feel welcome and valued in the community
What Did Community Spotlight Do?
• Visited a Loaves of Love cooking session 13th May 2022
• Identified weaknesses and ways to improve the service provided
How Did Community Spotlight CIC help?
• Connected the group to the wider community
• Raised awareness of the group through Community Spotlight social media
• Identified and connected the group with organisations which could help them support more people at their cooking sessions.
• Posted a request for storage containers on the Community Spotlight social media pages
• Identified and connected the group to organisations which could help them improve their service
Results
• The cooking group moved to a larger kitchen at Pompey in the Community in September 2022 and they can now support 12 women
• They were visited by Portsmouth South MP Stephen Morgan
• They received donations of muffin tins from Tesco Fratton
• They now have a booking system on their website
