COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT CIC
ABOUT US
Community Spotlight CIC is a small not for profit community interest company based in Portsmouth. It supports people of all ages, cultures and abilities to come together to learn, develop and connect with each other through fun, engaging activities, workshops & events which focus on creativity, community, health & wellbeing, education and activity based projects.
We form partnerships which add social value to the community by identifying opportunities to redevelop and increase the use of underused community spaces & facilities.
Our goal is to use an asset based community development strategy which focuses on identifying and mobilising the assets already present in a community (such as skills, relationships, physical spaces, local institutions, etc.) rather than focusing on what it needs.
OUR STORY

Community Spotlight started out as a Facebook group in 2020 called Together We Can Portsmouth. The group was set up to enable us to build an online network to support & connect local community groups during the Covid pandemic. 18 months later and the group was brimming with community kindness & support!
In 2022, we decided to take the plunge and launched Community Spotlight CIC, a not-for-profit community interest company. Our aim is to help create social change and make a positive impact by increasing awareness, connecting communities and reducing social isolation through our fun activities and marketing initiatives.
